Ongoing Opportunities:
- Lifewise Academy - Shawnee students in a growing number of grades are able to receive Bible/character education during the school day. There are multiple opportunities to volunteer to be a part of this exciting, impactful ministry!
- Aspire - We are partnering with Aspire/Apollo to help serve the influx of non-English speaking families within our community. If anyone is interested, please contact Jessica McCullough at missions@shawneealliance.com.
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio - Big Brothers Big Sisters invites you to help to shape a child’s future through empowering him or her to achieve their goals and have a lot of fun in the process! Whatever it is you enjoy, odds are you’ll enjoy it even more with your Little—and you’ll be making a life-changing impact.
- City Life at Rally Point Youth Center - Through the leadership of caring Christian adults, City Life Rally Point provides a safe, fun environment and seeks to give teenagers sound guidance using Biblical principles. You may have heard of their annual River Ride fundraiser. They are in need of volunteers to work with the teens and to drive the van for pickups and drop-offs. Donations are always appreciated.
- Heartbeat of Lima - Heartbeat provides free resources such as pregnancy tests and parenting classes. If you'd like to volunteer, a Client Advocate is a great role for those who seek to mentor new or expecting parents, one-on-one. If you'd like to be a listening ear, provide support and encouragement, and share the gospel with our clients in a private and personal setting, this is for you!
- Habitat for Humanity - Habitat for Humanity not only requires people to help build their own homes, but they also teach financial skills and basic homeowner maintenance so they can maintain independence. Caleb from Habitat guarantees there is a way for anyone to help, and works with volunteers to make their ideas come to fruition! He works with retired people who can fix things, people who can make things, people who can use skills like making model houses and crafts. It’s a good way to interact with people and give back!
